  1. Get 1 pack thomas english muffins
  2. Prepare 1/2 cup softened butter
  3. Get 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  4. Make ready 1 lb mild ground sausage
  5. Take 8 eggs
  6. Prepare 1 cup whole milk
  7. Take 1/2 teaspoon salt
  8. Take 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  9. Prepare 2 Tablespoons pimentos chopped
  10. Make ready 2 cups chedder cheese shredded

A flat, disc-like bread roll, traditionally given its appearance by cooking both sides of a ball of soft dough on a very hot plate so that the bread is scorched on either side. Typical ingredients include wheat flour, water, yeast and salt. English Muffins start with an overnight rise so that they are nearly ready to be baked off in the morning. Once baked, they get split open with a fork(!!!) to reveal all of those classic nooks and crannies.

Instructions to make English muffin & sausage casserole:
  1. Toast all of the english muffins then cut into bite size pieces and set aside
  2. Brown and crumble ground sausage in a skillet till done
  3. Beat eggs with salt, pepper and milk then mix in pimentos
  4. Mix 1/2 cup softened butter with maple syrup then melt in the microwave till fully melted
  5. In a 13 × 9 inch baking dish spray with cooking oil
  6. Add half of the muffin pieces, then use a spoon too drizzle on about 1/4 cup of butter mixture on the english muffins pieces, add half of the sausage and pour on half of the egg mixture, then sprinkle on 1 cup of cheese. Repeat layer.
  7. Cover and refrigerate for a few hours or overnight
  8. Remove from refrigerator while oven is pre heating to 375 degrees
  9. Bake for about 35 minutes
  10. Let cool for a few minutes then enjoy

English Muffins start with an overnight rise so that they are nearly ready to be baked off in the morning. Once baked, they get split open with a fork(!!!) to reveal all of those classic nooks and crannies. Perfect for the butter to melt into or to serve your Eggs Benedict on. Let cool and store in a resealable plastic bag at room temperature. They're complete breakfast heaven to me, especially when turned into a breakfast egg sandwich.
