It starts with fresh ingredients including rice noodles, chicken, shrimp, tofu, cilantro, bean sprouts.

The ingredients needed to make Pad Thai:
  1. Get For Pad Thai Sauce
  2. Make ready 3 tablespoons thick tamarind paste
  3. Make ready 3 cloves garlic – minced
  4. Get 1 tsp red chilli paste
  5. Get 2 tbsp Fish sauce
  6. Prepare 1/4 cup jaggery
  7. Prepare 1/2 cup water
  8. Make ready 1 tsp salt
  9. Take Pad Thai Ingredients
  10. Get 250 g Shrimps
  11. Get 1 packet rice noodles preferably flat rice noodles
  12. Make ready 1 Egg
  13. Prepare 4 tbsp sesame / vegetable oil
  14. Make ready 1 onion sliced
  15. Make ready 5 cloves garlic finely chopped
  16. Make ready 4-5 spring onions whites sliced, and greens chopped
  17. Make ready 1/2 cup roasted peanuts roughly pounded
  18. Get to taste Salt
  19. Make ready Lemon wedges for garnishing

You may want to start with less pepper, and work your way up. Pad Thai is stir-fried rice noodle dish ubiquitous with Thai cuisine in the United States, but it wasn't With World War II nearing, the Thai government created the dish to promote a sense of national unity.   3. Heat 3 tbsp oil In a deep frying pan. Add the shrimps and cook on high heat till they turn pink. Drain and keep aside.
  4. In the same pan, add the onion, and spring onion whites, and garlic and stir-fry. Take care not to burn them. - Add the noodles and stir fry for 2 minutes.
  5. Add the prepared Pad Thai sauce, a little at a time, stirring continuously. Add Only that much sauce, so that the noodles are well coated and slightly wet.
  6. Add the shrimps and stir fry for 2 minutes.
  7. Move the contents of the pan to one side, Add a tbsp of oil in the centre of the pan, and crack an egg over it. Quickly scramble the egg and cook for a minute.
  8. Add the spring onions green stalks and the crushed peanuts, reserving a few for garnishing. Mix and stir-fry for a minute.
  9. Remove Pad Thai into a serving plate and garnish with crushed peanuts, spring onions (greens), a few shrimps and lemon wedges.

The noodles are topped with crushed peanuts and served with fresh chives, lime wedges. Pad Thai is probably one of the most popular Thai dishes abroad.
